How to consider handling professional rejections/failures?
This must have been discussed extensively, but we can always try to view it from different perspectives.
Rejection is basically, non acceptance of any state, situation or proposal, our propositions did not meet their requirements or expectations, so what next?
We go to a bar and get drunk, and bitch it out with friends & partners or We can go back to the drawing board & review everything from A to Z, & accept the fact that their rejection was based on fulfilment criteria set for their requirements.
So even after the first option, one may still have to go back to the second option & get it right, if not for that very opportunity then for the next one.
Pick the aspects of the dealing & discussions that were positive, mark them to be included in the next corrected version.
Evaluate the rejection criteria religiously & note down the factors that had led to rejection.
So now having narrowed down both the aspects of your deal, focus should be on how to get yourself into the framework & mindset of getting it right in all quarters.
The Majority of rejections are perceptual differences, so either one has to build their presentation to be convincing enough for them to change their perception, or you must change your perception, the latter is always more fruitful.
So it is rightly said, Rejection is Redirection.
On another hand failure is more impactful, or we can say painful, as it reflects the results of all the efforts that were made to succeed, but it did not yield expected results, instead got exactly the opposite of it. Practically results cannot be changed, but once again one can go back to the drawing board & follow the same methodology to evaluate the main reasons behind such unexpected results.
Better ways, propositions & perceptions may have to be formed in order to take the next step after every failure, the next action plan must have necessary cautious measures to avoid the same results.
Every failure is a promise for a lesson, any better or different results cannot be achieved without implementation of those lessons learned from previous failures.
Both Rejection & Failure are important for growing & getting better, not necessarily one must strive for them, but as & when faced with it, looking forward on what next & looking back only to understand what not to do again, are the best known approaches.
Fighting it or battling with it may not change the end results, look within & look ahead.
