The Most Desirable Professional!!

 The Most Desirable Professional!!

We can consider eight major aspects of every professional life that are most likely to continue to give favorable results making those professionals the most desirable one amongst them all.

Attributes of the most desirable Professional:
1) Skills
2) Experience
3) Knowledge
4) Delegation
5) Dedication
6) Team Work
7) Integrity
8) Creativity & Proactiveness
9) Liked

We won't invest our precious time in trying to explain or understand 1 to 8 attributes, as a lot has been written & explained about it.
Hence we straight away go to 9th attribute that is the most heavy weight amongst all the 9 & has a significant impact on all the remaining 8 aspects

Attribute Number 9, Liked

One may be very skillful & intelligent yet won't be valued by their team members, juniors & seniors as well.
One can have a long & strong experience but won't be invited in strategic sessions.
One may be knowledgeable & very proactive yet won't be asked to give their suggestions.
One might have a very strong understanding on how to delegate tasks, follow them up & get it done, yet no one will appreciate it.
One may be highly dedicated towards their job & responsibilities, yet they won't be entrusted with many other things.
One might be an excellent team player, yet will be made to sit on the bench for most of the time.
One can be God gifted with their integrity, neither will they do anything wrong nor will allow anyone to do so, still won't be cherished.
One may be highly creative & proactive but may not get due credit, appreciation & motivation.

So why despite all these most desirable characteristics & attributes one may remain deprived of the success, value & recognition?

Because when one is not liked or disliked by the people around, be it their juniors, colleagues or seniors, no matter if they get them the moon & stars yet cannot be valued, forget about those other 8 most desirable aspects, they may all remain all for decoration.

And what makes one get disliked or not liked?

When someone is real, straightforward & confident, they unknowingly tend to become blunt with their opinions, suggestions & presentations leaving the people around them displeased, unhappy & even disappointed.

In more simplified words, for every professional while all those 8 most desirable aspects are meant to bring all kinds of success, glory & growth, if one have not learned to mind their own business in a very loud manner, if one don't know how to begin & end every conversation with a smile, if one cannot agree with their bosses for anything & everything, if one cannot remain focused & sticked to their own KPIs & JD, it is practically going to make it impossible to get any better. And the exact opposite of the desirable takes place, that is one may not be liked or disliked & once someone has embarked on that very journey, there is no going back.

What can be done to make attempts not to get disliked, as that is more important than to be liked in the first place:
1) As a professional your appointment has been done to achieve some specific tasks & objectives, remain focused on your own KPIs & JD. Complete your tasks without being reminded & follow ups, if you are to submit daily, weekly, biweekly & monthly reports then do so without fail, but DON'T do anything more than what you are expected or requested for. The reason for it is that when you over deploy your skills & try to share your understanding & know how about the subject, you tend to displace the rest of them that are trying their level best, leave a room for them to showcase their skills & let everyone's results speak for themselves.
2) It is a well known fact that experience is one of the greatest teachers, and it is only those who have failed reinventing the wheel may testify how important it is to pay attention when an experienced professional is saying or doing something. Nevertheless the same experience becomes useless if you are disliked. Your experience has already gotten you up the ladder, you don't have anything to prove to anyone ever again, if they are in awe of your experience take time to rethink on how to let them cash it on, know that there is always a better version of yourself, & when you are disliked they will want to rely on every next available option to get the information or job done, let them suit their tastes, NOBODY can take away your experience, while you watch others do the job that you could have done excellently, take needed motivation & encouragement in watching others do that job with their own set of experience, you will learn more & get better. At least you won't give reasons for being disliked any more.
3) Knowledge is something that is going to become precious very soon, today people do not like to read, study, evaluate or contemplate, as ample of other options to keep them busy & occupied are available. So either people learn on their job after making repeated mistakes or they gain knowledge by doing things differently in wrong ways, so practically all the knowledge that has been narrated by systematic research, strategies & systematically proved with scientific evidences are now terms as "THEORETICAL", funny enough all the so called theories were derived from well documented practical's. So when your knowledge is not being optimized, remain invested & focused on adding more to it in your own KPIs & JD, while you learn & add more to your knowledge from those practical's that they are performing without having known the ABC of any research. Your knowledge cannot be ROBBED.
4) It is never easy to trust the team members, especially when there is disparity around in almost every aspect of life. So delegation becomes practically difficult, even if the investors have evaluated & time tested their employees, in order to keep their investments safe, secure & growing, they will prefer to run the entire operation of their business micro managing every aspect of it, literally leaving behind not even a single strain of trust in anyone or anything. So delegation of work load comes only about those options that they won't mind making any loss over it. So when as a professional you are master of delegation as you know your team members & their abilities & inabilities, don't get carried away if the same level of trust & delegation does not come your way. Do what you are being asked to do & leave the rest for them to get it done by whosoever they want to get it done from. The less they TRUST you leaves you with more time & opportunities to be trusted upon later.
5) When one has imbibed a very high level of dedication on whatever they do, it is obvious that they become expectant of their efforts being recognized & appreciated. But unfortunately it doesn't work like that, because when you are working in a team with mixed feelings & understanding about dedication, your scores of 100% in it will always become intimidating for the rest of them. Yes this does not mean that one must now compromise on their dedication, but just make sure that you just don't OVERDO with your dedication, leave everyone else with their piece & level of dedication to make a mark, as that isn't going to ever come anywhere close to yours to challenge you.
6) No professional has ever got to climb the ladder of success without being a good team player, take it or leave it. So when it may seems that you are being credited with not getting along with a few of them, its obvious that those team members are not entirely sincere with their own teamwork & that is so glaringly evident in their plans, strategies & conduct that it is obvious that you won't be able to align your teamwork. Do not get discouraged with such attacks, teamwork is one such attribute of a very seasoned professional that if anyone who lacks integrity in their intent will never get to appreciate your level of team work. Not getting along with bandits of organization is rather a stronger display of your professional ethics & character. You don't have to make it difficult for yourself by trying to get everyone on board in the name of teamwork when you have time & again gathered enough evidence that those individuals are working for themselves above the organizational interest & well being. Just stand down & aside without making it obvious that you have  UNMASKED their agenda, wait & watch from afar.
7) The most difficult part of your professional life is to accept this very fundamental fact that everyone believes & runs with their own definition of Integrity. So you don't have to expect everyone to believe in your own definition of integrity, least to expect them to follow it anyways. Integrity is the work of forefathers, it's in the DNA, so take it from here, if it is there it's there for real & if it isn't there, no level of training, education & success can ever change their perception & definition of integrity. So if you have the confidence that your own level of integrity is top notch then leave everyone else's idea about your definition of integrity aside & chill. You do not have any need to be appreciated for your level of integrity from those who run a different belief about it entirely. So just continue to make your forefathers PROUD of you when you continue to carry their legacy in today's time of integrity deficit.
8) One of the most dissatisfying & draining aspects of any professional is when their creativity & proactiveness gets them into a difficult situation. When one is creatively thinking about making things better around the work & business, they will not hesitate to go that extra mile & proactively making sure that the concerns, issues & problems do not become a business catastrophe and yet rather than being appreciated & cherished, the same creativity & proactiveness continues to bring about the most frustrating repercussions over and over again. That is because it appears that one continues to outsmart everyone in the room, practically making the rest of them all to run down an introspection, the most painful thing ever to do. Please do not strive to continue to deploy out of box solutions from the profile you are in, it's absolutely not necessary. So be creative & proactive only in doing the needful once in a while, it won't hurt but rather would save you from becoming the most disliked creature around.

Be patient enough to wait for your turn, to act, to speak & to contribute, do not be in haste to do anything before everyone around has matured enough to see, understand & evaluate the situation from your own perspective.
Because not everyone is at the same level of evolution, their DNA, their environment, their upbringing, the love they got while growing up, the nurturing they got from people around, the education & understanding of purpose of life & their own existence is going to remain poles apart from yours, neither are you right all the times nor are they can be wrong all the times, if you have this confidence that you have all 8 box ticked, the most important one you will have to work to get ticked is the 9th one & the only way to get it ticked by almost everyone around is by letting them all be & making sure that you do not get disliked by doing anything so as to give them opportunity to bring you down from either of those most desirable 8 aspect of professional life.

Work hard on not getting disliked, that may lay a strong foundation for slowly getting liked. Add this aspect of DNA for your coming generations as a legacy. So that while you are in the making of The Most Desirable Professional, they will start their life from where you were able to bring about that most difficult & desirable change in your approach, attitude & acceptance of your abilities & that of everyone else.

Handle them with care, as they are evolving!
