What do we understand about workplace politics & why do we see it being deployed more than often?
One, we human beings are having criticism in our DNA, we are naturally lured to the missing pieces of every puzzle, defects, & so on, hence we remain focused on collecting them & publishing them to prove how smart we are as we could easily pick the missing pieces from that very puzzle.
Two, it is easier to identify those missing pieces of a puzzle in someone else's work & efforts rather than to work hard to be better than them & design the whole new puzzle.

And hence we continue to see, experience & play politics at the workplace. As again, the workplace is the only place we are able to flex our muscles & fault our demons.

In some cases healthy politics can help create competition between the peers & can actually lead to growth & success, but mostly it has time & again been recorded in Human history that it has never ended well. Later or sooner anyone who may have played with something & gotten ahead at that point in time would have to face the consequences of the unhealthy practice & immaturity they may have deployed in getting ahead.

But nevertheless there isn't any workplace that will be politics free & the fact about the workplace politics is that for any unflinching observer it gets more beautiful in realization as it gets uglier in play.

Out of all the methodologies of politics at the workplace, the most dreadful are the ones that are played proving that you are on their side and for a longer period. That is to destroy the professional careers & the self worth, while one can remain the closest ally of their target.

What could be such practices that are actually a game of politics that may end up destroying someone's life & career in the long run? & how do their strategies look & what they normally do?

KEEP THEM CLOSE & LET THEM BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE THEIR ONLY WELL WISHER.

This is how the ONLY WELL WISHER will think & act: (Who is actually working towards a detrimental end for that very person)

A) NEVER correct them, no matter however unprofessional, unethical, unvirtuous their actions might be, do not bother to correct them & instead if possible motivate them & encourage them to continue doing more of it. Let them be a disrupter of the entire system. Use them.
B) Find out who is challenging them & that they are unable to accept them as their team member, continue to give them back biting about that very person, fill them with exaggerated information that makes them think & focus on that very aspect & they trail in their deliverables.
C) Always give them time & attention when they want, hear them out so that you can take your own time to think about it more strategically & play along to give suggestions or opinions that are in line with what they want to hear from you.
D) Defend them in their presence, faithfully & all the times, no matter however they might have positioned themselves.
E) Make them believe that you can go to any extent to cover them up, hide their crimes & take up the battles for them to the next level.
F) Give an impression of them being larger than life, appreciate their little work to make it look like they have already won WWIII.
G) Put them first in some general meetings & functions so that they might feel that they are the organizers of the same & that it wouldn't have been possible with them.
H) Always give a personal touch to your communication with them, try to remember their last conversation about their pain point & do not fail to ask how they are feeling about it. Never allow them to forget about their pain points so that they can remain vulnerable with their emotions.
I) Ignore observations made by other team members about them, complaints, warnings, do not pay attention to it or do anything about it even if it comes to your own desk. Let it be & let it pass.
J) Glorify them in front of Management as if the Organization would have failed & ran into losses if they weren't around.
K) Process their quotations or bills, without cross checking or contesting them, that is even if you know that they are fake, let it be.
L) Encourage them to make use of others as scapegoats for your agendas, mostly they are likely to make your objectives as yours.
M) Teach them to play victim card when they get caught by the authorities & run a series of blame games, bring out all old & irrelevant issues to wave off the possible charges & actions of their current actions.
N) Make sure that whenever they are under any stress, tension, complications they always rush down to you, give them that confidence & assurance that you will take care of the situation no matter what & even do so, but the basics as you handle the situation never work, think or talk about how did it happened in the first place & what should be done in order to avoid the repetition in the future.

When one plays such games consciously & carefully with anyone & everyone at your workplace, it will make them the most adorable yet dangerous ally.
Because with every such action they are motivating their victims to dig their own grave deeper & deeper, while at the same point in time when they keep their victims busy in digging their own graves they can hardly think of getting ahead of others or competing with them.

A very brutal reality about the workplace politics that works well & wonderfully, they will get sacked or terminated with total disgrace that they won't find a job any soon, while their self esteem & self worth will be destroyed to a level that they will never be able to see themselves as capable of doing anything by themselves.

The article is not meant to teach anyone to portray evil sides of their being, but instead alert those who are being played, be watchful of who is doing all these to whom. 

THE ONE WHO NEVER CORRECTS YOU WITH A RIGHT INTENTION, AND IS ALWAY CHEERING YOU UP FOR NO MATTER WHAT, IS PLAYING THIS GAME WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Fear them more, than those who are correcting you & shouting at you, that is even if you don't like it or did not ask for it.

Unfortunately enough, the article isn't about painting someone in a different shade, some of them are naturally build & trained by their environment to practically destroy everything good & better they come across, that they feel intimidated with it & these kind of strategies starts flowing out of them as an immediate response to defend their insecurities, they have to kill what they cannot learn & earn. And in their quest mostly they victimize the weaker one in order to gain the satisfaction of sharpening their saws.

While the victims will go to any extent to destroy themselves due to the spell that was casted upon them. They were blind folded with affirmations on everything that they thought & did.
